Toka Sticks Golf Club is a public 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course located in Mesa. The course originally was a 9-hole military golf course located on then Williams Air Field, built in 1956 by the Army Corps of Engineers. In the mid 1980s, the Air Force expanded the course to 18-holes. When congress closed Williams Air Force Base in 1993, the Gila River Indian Community took management of the course and opened the course to the public in December 1993. While the golf club isn't a resort, there is a Four Points by Sheraton on the property right next to the clubhouse for those wishing to stay in the area.
