Tournament Players Club (TPC) Scottsdale is a golf resort with public access located in Scottsdale. The golf club consists of two 18-hole Par 71 championship courses - the Stadium Course and the Champions Course. The Stadium Course opened in 1986 and was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish. The course contains arguably the most famous hole in golf, the par 3 16th hole dubbed "The Coliseum" in which 20,000+ capacity stands are erected every year for the Phoenix Waste Management Open surrounding the par 3. The Stadium Course most recently underwent renovation in 2014. The Champions Course opened in 2007, built on top of TPC Scottsdale's old Desert Course, and was designed by Randy Heckenkemper. For those wishing to stay at the resort, there are two primary lodging options. The main resort associated with TPC Scottsdale is the the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess which overlooks the Stadium Course. Accomodations can be made either through the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess or through golf vacation packages with TPC Scottsdale. The other lodging option on-site is the Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains which overlooks the Champions Course.
Due to the popularity of the Waste Management Open (over 700,000 last recorded in attendance over the course of the tournament) and other nearby Scottsdale attractions & businesses, there are several other lodging options within 1 mile of TPC Scottsdale including the Scottsdale Links Resort, Residence Inn by Marriott, Courtyard by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Sheraton Desert Oasis, Holiday Inn Club Vactions, Scottsdale Villa Mirage, Diamond Resorts International, and Hilton Garden Inn.
