Grand Canyon University Golf Course is a public 18-hole, par 71 championship golf course located in west Phoenix. The course opened in 1961 (originally called Maryvale Golf Course), and was designed by William F. Bell. The course is owned by the city of Phoenix, but in 2014 the city signed a 30-year contract with Grand Canyon University to manage the facility. In 2016, a $10 million renovation of the course was completed by John Fought and included lengthening the course, relocating bunkers, fairway modifications as well as a 22,260 sq ft facility for use by the GCU Golf teams.
